Things to do

On Site

Wildlife to Spot:

  • The family of barn owls, who have been on site for 30+ years

  • Deer (both muntjac and roe deer) who snooze in the nursery woodland

  • Red kites circling in the skies

  • Meandering pheasants

  • Our resident blue tits singing from their bespoke bird box on the shower block

Picnic – Make breakfast and dinner extra special by picnicking at sunrise or sunset in the farm fields.

Walk - to the villages of Shipton, Ascott and Milton-under-Wychwood, which boast 5 great pubs, 2 wonderful cafes, a pizzeria (takeaway available), 3 play parks and 3 village shops! As well as the glorious Wychwood Wild Gardens - 12.5 acres of avenues, woods and ponds much of which was laid out in the 1860's. Or take on the Wychwood or Oxfordshire Wat - both run close to the site.

Cycle - the rolling Cotswold hills. We can recommend lots of lovely cafes for those essential stops!

Trains: Shipton-Under-Wychwood and Ascott-Under-Wychwood both have infrequent train services, Charlbury, a 10 minute drive, has services to Oxford, London and Hereford. Please note, there are no taxi ranks at the local stations, you will need to pre-book a taxi.

Buses:  The Wychwoods are served by several local bus services that can connect you to Witney, Chipping Norton, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and on to Oxford and Cheltenham.

Taxis: Your Cotswold Adventure is in a rural area, as such taxis are best booked well in advance.
